MRECS was founded in 2007 by Mr. Patrik Mermans. At that moment Mr. Mermans had already gained significant transactional experience in commercial property in both Belgium and Luxemburg.

Starting his career in real estate in the beginning of 2001 at the JonesLangLaSalle Capital Markets team in Brussels, Mr. Mermans joined early 2004 the newly set up Belgian branch of Oppenheim Immobilien Belgien. There he was responsible for both acquisitions and disposals in Belgium and Luxemburg.

In 2007 MRECS advised and guided the UK based investment manager Rockspring PIM on all of its acquisitions and disposals in Benelux. With the main focus at Rockspring PIM on retail warehouse and semi-industrial property, MRECS advised also on a major Brussels office portfolio acquisition by a joint-venture between AIG and Rockspring PIM.

In the beginning of 2010 MRECS was appointed by IVG in order to improve significantly the performance of their Belux portfolio as well as for the set up of an asset management team and implementation of necessary guidelines and procedures.
